This is both a follow-up and an additional commentary to the two previous posts.

Hearing that climate change was not going to a direct topic for discussion in the last debate wound me up in a way that was not pleasant.  Given today’s forecast,  it seemed to be a perfect opportunity for a trip to the mountains to cleanse my senses and ease my soul-a bit of mindfulness if you will.  The temperature was in the mid 30s and the stars still dotted the sky as the drive began.  It was nice to actually be cold at the start of a day.

Once there, the only sounds were the intermittent breeze spreading through the trees and the distant thrumming of a woodpecker at work.  Otherwise, all was quiet and still.  It became quite warm standing in the direct sun as the morning progressed, but it was easy to move just a few yards back into the much cooler shade.

All was right for a while…it is so very useful to know how to regain one’s balance.

Take care.
